Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, Mayor Beckman called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
John Logsdon addressed the Council regarding his septic system. Logsdon noted that his septic system is in good working order but is getting old. In 2019, the Council decided that the options available for him to connect his home to City sewer are: connect to the main located on the east side of Hill Street installing the pipe in the city’s right of way along Kuhn Drive or connect to the main located on the south side of Kuhn Drive boring under Kuhn Drive to his property.

Penny Hertges discussed wages associated with cleaning the community center.

Council reviewed the submitted police report for March.

Lienau made a motion approving the following consent items: March 6, 2023 council minutes, clerk’s reports, and the monthly bills; seconded by Knutson, carried.

Goltz made a motion to approve the second reading of Ordinance #92, an ordinance amending the water improvement fee; seconded by Langreck.
Whereupon the Mayor put the question on the motion and the following named Council Members voted:
Ayes: Holthaus, Goltz, Knutson, Langreck. Nays: None. Absent: Lienau
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion carried.

Langreck made a motion to approve the second reading of Ordinance #93, an ordinance amending the sewer improvement fee; seconded by Lienau.
Whereupon the Mayor put the question on the motion and the following named Council Members voted:
Ayes: Holthaus, Goltz, Knutson, Langreck. Nays: None. Absent: Lienau
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion carried.

Lienau made a motion to waive the third readings of Ordinance #92 and Ordinance #93, and Ordinance #92 and Ordinance #93 be passed and approved, second by Goltz.
Whereupon the Mayor put the question on the motion and the following named Council Members voted:
Ayes: Holthaus, Goltz, Knutson, Langreck. Nays: None. Absent: Lienau
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion carried with Ordinance #92 and Ordinance #93 becoming effective upon publication.

Langreck made a motion setting the public hearing date and time for the FY23 Budget for May 1, 2023 at 5:00pm; seconded by Goltz, carried.
Council previewed the new city website.

Lienau made a motion to increase the wage for Penny Hertges to $275/month for cleaning the community center effective July 1, 2023; seconded by Langreck, carried.

Council reviewed information provided by Soo Green.

The purchase of new trash receptacles for downtown was tabled.

Council had a general discussion regarding, nuisance properties, Veteran’s Memorial, yard waste site, intakes, electronic sign and previously approved building permits.

Langreck made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Knutson; carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:30pm.
