Present: Holthaus, Knutson, Langreck, Lienau. Absent: None. There is currently one vacancy.
City employees present: Chad Bohr, Kyle Tieskoetter, Ashley Goltz
Also present: Mike Meyer, Justin Bohr, Jerry Bohr, Jacob & Megan West
Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, Mayor Beckman called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Mayor Beckman opened the public hearing for the FY25 Budget. There were no written or public comments. Mayor Beckman closed the public hearing.
Lienau made a motion approving Resolution 700, a resolution appointing Jerry Bohr to fill a the vacancy on the Ossian City Council through December 31, 2025; seconded by Knutson.
Whereupon the Mayor put the question on the motion and the following named Council Members voted:
Ayes: Holthaus, Langreck, Knutson, Lienau. Nays: None. There is currently one vacancy.
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion carried and the resolution adopted.
Jerry Bohr was given the Oath of Office and took a seat at the council table.
Langreck made a motion approving Resolution 701, a resolution approving the FY25 budget; seconded by Holthaus.
Whereupon the Mayor put the question on the motion and the following named Council Members voted:
Ayes: Bohr, Holthaus, Langreck, Knutson, Lienau. Nays: None.
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion carried and the resolution adopted.
Holthaus made a motion approving Ryan and Kathy Becker’s request for chickens with the city limits; second by Lienau, carried.
Holthaus made a motion to sponsor the Ossian Fest Entertainment; second by Knutson, carried.
The City will not be purchasing a lawn mower at this time.
Lienau made a motion approving a tax abatement application for Jacob and Megan West; second by Langreck, carried.
Lienau made a motion approving a building permit for Jacob and Megan West, Lee and Bev Hageman and a fence permit for Arnie Kriener; second by Holthaus, carried.
Council continued discussion on nuisance properties.
Other items discussed included lead service lines, ICAP grant, ARPA reporting, fire station generator, working hours, committee appointments,
Langreck made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Lienau; carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:14pm.
