Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, Mayor Beckman called the meeting to order at 5:01 p.m.
Lienau made a motion to replace the curb and gutter on Main Street during the Highway 52 making the city responsible for payment of 3,820 linear feet; second by Langreck, carried.
Council had general discussion on curb stops on Highway 52. Per City ordinance, this is the homeowner’s responsibility. There are 33 that do not work and will need to be fixed prior to the start of the Highway 52 project. Discussion on curb stops was tabled to gather more information.
Discussion on an agreement with Calmar for the cost of police was tabled to gather more information.
Langreck made a motion approving a rental agreement for using the Community Center; second by Knutson, carried.
Knutson made a motion to renew a 5-year generator agreement with Ziegler; second by Langreck, carried.
Knutson made a motion introducing Resolution #659, an ordinance amending the provisions pertaining to vacation allotment date; seconded by Langreck.
Whereupon the Mayor put the question on the motion and the following named Council Members voted:
Ayes: Knutson, Lienau, Langreck. Nays: None. Absent: Goltz, Holthaus
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion carried.
Langreck made a motion approving Resolution #660, a resolution approving uniform expense reimbursement; seconded by Lienau
Whereupon the Mayor put the question on the motion and the following named Council Members voted:
Ayes: Langreck, Lienau, Knutson. Nays: None. Absent: Goltz, Holthaus
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion carried and the resolution adopted.
Council had discussion on several nuisance properties in town.
The council discussed a dollar amount of sidewalk reimbursement. An ordinance will be presented at the next council meeting.
Lienau made a motion approving a fence permit for Raymond Reinhardt; second by Langreck, carried.
Knutson made a motion approving a permit for Zaneta Lewicka to sell educational books door to door around town; second by Langreck, carried.
Langreck made a motion to reimburse Reilly’s for snow removal in FY21; second by Lienau, carried.
Council had a general discussion regarding community center use, city clean-up day, fuel surcharge change, city investment policy, time clock machine, fire hydrant removal, road signs, and crosswalk painting.
Due to Labor Day, the September regular city council meeting will be on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 5:00pm.
Lienau made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Knutson, carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:44 pm.
