Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, Mayor Beckman called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Mayor Beckman announced the public hearing for the conveyance of real estate was open for any questions or comments. There were no written comments or objections submitted, nor were there any comments or objects from those present. Mayor Beckman closed the public hearing.
Langreck made a motion approving Resolution #644, a resolution approving the conveyance of 209 Fisher Ave to Irving and Natalie Macario, seconded by Goltz.
Whereupon the Mayor put the question on the motion and the following named Council Members voted:
Ayes: Knutson, Langreck, Goltz
Nays: None.
Absent: Lienau, Holthaus
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion carried and the resolution adopted.
Langreck made a motion introducing Ordinance #84, an ordinance amending the provisions pertaining to open burning restrictions for its second reading; seconded by Knutson
Whereupon the Mayor put the question on the motion and the following named Council Members voted:
Ayes: Knutson, Lienau, Langreck, Goltz.
Nays: None.
Absent: Holthaus
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion carried.
Langreck made a motion approving Resolution #645, a resolution regarding writing-off uncollectable utility bills, seconded by Knutson.
Whereupon the Mayor put the question on the motion and the following named Council Members voted:
Ayes: Holthaus, Langreck, Lienau, Goltz, Knutson.
Nays: None.
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion carried and the resolution adopted.
Goltz made a motion approving Resolution #646, a resolution supporting the clerk submitting a scholarship application for clerk school tuition, seconded by Holthaus.
Whereupon the Mayor put the question on the motion and the following named Council Members voted:
Ayes: Holthaus, Langreck, Lienau, Goltz, Knutson.
Nays: None.
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion carried and the resolution adopted.
Knutson made a motion to approve a job description and advertisement for the Maintenance Foreman position with applications due April 26, 2021, seconded by Holthaus; carried
Lienau made a motion approving the tax abatement application for Mitchell and Jenny Holthaus, second by Goltz; carried with Holthaus abstaining.
Lienau made a motion to continue with the process of requiring any new renter in Ossian to pay a deposit of $150 upon move in, seconded by Knutson; carried.
Council had general discussion regarding city impound, employee handbook, space for Slim’s Woodshed, Crown Club meeting, yard waste site and Community Center usage.
Holthaus made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Langreck, carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:45pm.
