Jeff Kuboushek was present during his address to the Council.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, Mayor Beckman called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Jeff Kuboushek addressed the Council regarding the invoice he received for the Coop “tee” break.
Council discussed the City impound.
Holthaus made a motion to approve adding an additional air conditioning vent in the back room of the library by Becker Hardware; second by Goltz, carried.
Holthaus made a motion awarding the St. Teresa valve replacement to Northeast Iowa Backhoe Service; second by Goltz, carried.
Lienau made a motion to go with design 1 for street lighting at Military Trail Estates; second by Langreck, carried.
Knutson made a motion to approve a bid from Prairie Road Builders to seal coat Becker Avenue and Klein Street; second by Langreck, carried.
Lienau made a motion to have the fire hydrants sandblasted and painted by McMullen Coating and Sandblasting; second by Graham, carried.
The Mayor and Council held a lengthy discussion concerning the candidates being considered as the replacement for the Maintenance Foreman position. Following discussion, Knutson made a motion recommending Brian Zweibohmer be promoted to Maintenance Foreman at the hourly rate of $24.00 as of August 1, 2021 and Zweibohmer does not have to take residence in city limits; seconded by Langreck, carried, with the five council members present all saying yes.
Lienau made a motion to post the Maintenance Employee position; second by Goltz; carried.
Due to the Independence Day holiday observed on July 5, the July regular council meeting will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
Council had a general discussion regarding license renewal, charging sewer for watering, Highway 52 curb and gutter replacement, LED lights, curb stops, yard waste site, and nuisance properties
Holthaus made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Lienau, carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:09 pm.
