PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Ossian, Iowa, will
hold a closed session meeting pursuant to Iowa Code Section 21.5(1)(i).

AGENDA & PURPOSE
Discussion of Strategy and Evaluation of Personnel:
The City Council will enter into a closed session to evaluate the professional competency and
conduct of an individual city employee as requested by the individual, and to discuss strategy,
potential personnel action, and legal options with legal counsel.
This closed session is authorized under Iowa Code Section 21.5(1)(i), which permits a
governmental body to hold a closed session “to evaluate the professional competency of an
individual whose appointment, hiring, performance, or discharge is being considered when
necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation and that
individual requests a closed session.”

I hereby certify that a copy of this notice was posted at the designated official public posting
locations within the City of Ossian and provided to local news media in compliance with the open
meeting notice requirements of Iowa Code Chapter 21.
